In a not-to-be missed opportunity, Pink Martini is going to perform in Bucharest next Saturday, on the 27^th Oct. at Sala Palatului, 20:30 hrs. They are in a promo tour for their newest album “Hey Eugene”. The style is a mix between Cuban jazz, chamber music, film “noir”, Brazilian beats etc.

Most of it, they use vocals a lot with many variations: both women and men, English, Spanish Portuguese etc. The two albums they got out so far were really good and the latest one it’s not coming less. So, for a different kind of Saturday, go have a Martini, and make it Pink.

Finally (after a week and a half) I managed to upload the movies & pictures took on my graduation day at ASE Bucharest (The Academy of Economic Studies). It was a great day and the “grand ball” that followed it that night was excellent!
As for the last 4 years spent as a student, I’m not gonna’ start driving on the “memories lane” but they were pretty much what I expected them to be and even more..one thing’s for sure: I never got bored! .. Bearing that in mind..all the best to my collegues and see you… when we meet again!

    It’s the slogan of TED Talks, an annual conference that takes place in Monterey, California which gathers, as the trailers state, some 1000+ most brilliant minds of the world. Quite a bold statement 1st time you see it, but, as you start viewing some of the presentations held there, you start believing it. I found out about TED Talks from Guy Kawasaky’s blog (which I strongly recommend you to read as often as possible). The trailer I endorsed below it’s about choice and how excessive choice availability can lead to decision “paralysis”.     Am urmarit astazi cu atentie (ca multi altii probabil), “filmul” vizitei D-lui Bill Gates in Romania. Cu mult tact diplomatic caracteristic unei persoane de calibrul dumnealui, a reusit sa confere lansarii Global Support Center-ului un aer de o importanta deosebita chiar daca era vorba de lansarea unui vajnic call-center pentru deservirea clientiilor Microsoft din zona EMEA(sau cel putin asta am inteles eu). Spun vajnic nu pentru ca nu as aprecia realizarea echipei MS Romania si a D-lui Silviu Hotaran(pe care personal il admir foarte mult)..dimpotriva. Faptul ca avem un GSC Microsoft in Romania, cand el putea foarte bine sa fie oriunde altundeva decat in Romania (ma refer la zona CE Europe), este intr-adevar mai mult decat de apreciat.

    Pe de alta parte, s-au mai deschis si cu siguranta se vor mai deshide support-centers in RO apartinand unor companii foarte importante sau deservind companii foarte importante. Ce a avut GSC-ul MS asa de special? Pai evident l-a avut pe Bill Gates, “the 50 bln. $ man” cum l-a descris un reporter siderat, a carui prezenta a dat inaugurarii un boost de imagine fantastic. Caci Bill Gates asta face: el este cel mai faimos si puternic “vector de imagine” al unei companii din lume.

    Ei, si ca sa “cut to the chase”, langa cel mai puternic vector de imagine corporate, Bill Gates, l-am avut astazi pe cel mai puternic vector de imagine politica al Romaniei(cel putin asha spune legea). Ce a iesit? Ei bine a iesit un case study deosebit: president vs. the the ultimate business-man. Concluziile sunt la liber, ca doar pentru asta avem toti Windoz Ofis…

    Ah, era sa uit..de unde si titlul postului: am mai aflat aseara ca unei familii din nu mai stiu ce sat, din cauza drumului foarte ingust intr-o curba, i-au intrat in gard si in casa, in aprox. 4 ani, vreo 10 tiruri a.i. oamenii au decis, dupa ultima patanie, sa nu mai repare gardul, ca oricum nu rezista mult; tot in alte stiri, doi romani au fost retinuti ca spioni in Iraq pentru ca au facut poze “nepotrivite” cand dadeau cu matura. Cine stie ce maturi aveau..!?
