I always believed that it’s much better to let others tell about how you are, what you know or what you’re good at. But if, by any chance, you’re put in the position of telling something about yourself, than you should be short, clear and objective.
So, I was born in one of the most beautiful cities of Romania, Brasov, on the 29th of June 1984. I graduated Andrei Saguna high-school in 2003, computer science class. After that, I went to college to ASE in Bucharest, Faculty of Finance-Banking and to RAU, Faculty of European Studies also in Bucharest. Currently, I’m in the 4th and final year at both universities.
After an “extensive” analysis of the academic system, in my 1st year as a student, I decided to look for alternative ways of spending my “free” time, so I joined ADVICE Students , a NGO based in ASE specialized on marketing & advertising projects for students.
In the first 2 years as a member of ADVICE Students, I implemented and coordinated a series of projects on various domains such as entrepreneurship, soft-skills, recruitment, marketing etc.
Towards the end of my “career” as a students NGO member, I became the president of ADVICE Students, position in which, together with a team of extraordinary people (Carmen Boer, Anca Ignat, Catalin Neacsu, Iulia Nica, Irina Mihaescu and many others) we managed to re-organize (re-shuffle how I like to call it) the NGO into a 6 department structure and to develop it into a competitive presence in the students’ environment.
The above period was one of the most interesting and provocative that I experienced, from which I learned the importance and value of people in the development of an organization of any type.
After the ADVICE Students experience and with the help of the experience I accumulated, together with a part of my former colleagues, we set-up ADVICE Romania, company specialized in business and career events (Try Success, Business WarGame etc.)
The entrepreneurial time was certainly one that thought me a great deal about many things I only experienced in theory before and one that proved to be both though but mainly extremely rewarding. After almost a year, I decided to take a step further and head for the “corporate” world. The period spent working for two important international banks, ABN-Amro and Raiffesien Bank braught me in contact with great people, both colleagues and clients. I learned alor about what banking and especially what professional relationship management means (and trust me, it’s not an easy thing ;] ).
Always “up for a challenge” I decided to make a U-turn and leave for Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I’m now a MScBA student at Erasmus University’s Business School. [ to be continued ]
